YOUNG MUSICIAN, SUNGHA JUNG
A Wonderful Young Guitarist
This sort of talent and dedication are the sort of thing that, really, almost any child of this age is capable of. All
that is needed besides the basic talent is the internal passion plus the support to make it happen. Externally we
really can do nothing about the talent or passion parts, but there are many children who possess both but never get
the necessary support. Without that all important factor, the talent probably never will have a chance to be developed.
There are many cases where the lack of support is due solely to a lack of funds. Musical instruments and lessons do
not come cheaply -- even instrument rentals cost more than many people can afford. I know for a fact that this is the
case many times over here in the Pahrump Valley. Budding musicians and other artists do not get their talents developed
because of a lack of funding. Additionally there is the matter of coordination. How does one go about doing this?
Where can one obtain an instrument rental? Who gives lessons? Where are the venues for sharing and performing?
These all are matters that "Pahrump Valley Musician And Artist Network," along with its attendant organizations is
working to address for our area.
Additionally we now are faced with more challenges for these talented youth. The schools are seriously in danger of
losing their music and art programs. We seriously need donations and endowments to help fund the talent that will
make up the future of artistic culture.
Rant off for now. I shall be back soon with more young talent for your enjoyment.
